Summary: This article is about the pros and cons on having a wild animal as a pet. Many people want a wild animal as a pet for the thrill and excitement, but are invariably trained to handle them. When people adopt a wild animal, they adopt it when it's still a baby and unaware of how aggressive they can become once they reach adult hood. Most people don't realize that and leave them to a lonely and solitary life. Reflection: I chose this article because I've read many article about people having a wild animal as a pet, and wondered whether or not those people are responsible enough to have one. There have been many arguments on whether having a wild animal as a pet is good or bad and this article explains it. Seeing that other people have adopted wild animals, it seems as if having one is fun and exciting. I too have thought about having a wild animal as a pet just for the thrill of it, but wasn't aware of the pros and cons of having one. Although the good part of adopting one is that there cheaper and have a better chance of surviving with people than in the wild, there are many consequences when having one. I didn't realize that wild animals can still turn out aggressive when they've been with a person since they were a baby. I also didn't know that wild animals are just like people, and if they can't interact with their own species, they get lonely too. Wild animals can also carry many diseases that are lethal to us humans. After reading this article, I think that keeping a wild animal as a pet depends on who the owner is. If you decided to adopt a wild animal as a pet you should think it thoroughly first, weigh out the pros and cons, and make sure you don't have doubts when adopting one.
