Populations Guided Viewing Worksheet
1: What is symbiosis? What is a good example of a symbiotic relationship?
Symbiosis is living together. An example of a symbiotic relationship is the clown fish and sea anemone
2: List all of the types of interactions between two types of organisms in an ecosystem (give an example of each).

3: Ecosystem Feedback Mechanisms
Explain how the Wolves/Elk populations in Yellowstone are a great example of a symbiotic relationship and a negative feedback loop.
Wolves/Elk populations in Yellowstone are a great example of a symbiotic relationship because the wolf depends on the elk. When the population of wolves increases the population of elks decreases causing the population of wolves to decrease over time because there won't be enough food to survive. It's an example of feedback loop because the number of wolves dictate number of elk and number of elk dictate number of wolves.
4: What is the definition of a population?
A bunch of different individual organisms with a specific behavior living together
5: Discuss what is happening with the Kudzu Plant in the United States and explain how this is an example of a symbiotic relationship (which?).
In the U.S. the Kudzu plant was introduced in 1876. Nothing was ever known to eat the Kudzu plant, but scientists have discovered a stink bug that eat Kudzu. This is an example of predation because only the stinkbugs are gaining benefits while the Kudzu plant isn't.
