Environmental Science: Climate change
Summary: This article is about how climate change has caused polar bears to die. They had found one polar bear lying on the floor starved to death with no fat on it, and looked as flat as a rug in the Arctic Island of Svalbard in July. Polar bears rely on sea ice to hunt for food, but as global warming starts to melt the ice they start to die, result into cannibalism, and the population decreases. Many polar bears don't look as healthy as they should be, and start to look quite thin and not in good condition. The photographer who took the photo of the dead polar bear, predicts over the next 10 to 20 years that's what the rest of the polar bears will end up like.

Reflection: I chose this article because polar bears are one of the animals that many people predict will be extinct in the next couple year. I think it's interesting to know that something as climate change can result into polar bears dying and may have them extinct. It's depressing to know that innocent polar bears are starving because melted ice are preventing them from hunting. Many of them are so desperate for search of sea ice to help them hunt for seal. In my opinion, if we want to prevent climate change we need to do things such as recycle, use energy efficient appliances, and reduce our use on fossil fuels, coal, gas etc. if we want a future for our polar bears.
