Conservation For the People
A: List the major ideas, concepts or key points- point by point
B: Summarize the AUTHOR’s main point or idea- at LEAST 1-2 paragraphs
Conserving ecosystems is very important because it results to more biodiversity. Biodiversity hotspots aren't galvanizing the public to help fund and participate to help. Damage to one ecosystem can harm another as well as the individuals who rely on it for resources. Damage to one ecosystem can harm another as well as the individuals who rely on it for resources. Most ecosystem services are declining as well as not being used in a sustainable way. Many protected areas will need to be intensely managed to retain their natural-ness. Human-caused species are inevitable and we must be realistic about what we can and cannot accomplish.
C: Write a reaction paragraph to the article stating your own thoughts on the topic, using specific citations from the article to support your views
Reading this article has made me realize that biodiversity isn't something that people know about. I also learned that the ecosystem is more important that people think it is. Putting human health first is the best thing to do. First conserving the ecosystems in places where biodiversity delivers services to people in need is a good idea. Conservationists need to hear and communicate the message that our fight against poverty, inequality and disease is directly linked to the health of the earth itself. Hopefully in the future people will more educated and care much more about the ecosystem.

This reminds me of?:
School. School is important and not everyone realizes. If people don't take school seriously there future can turn out bad
- The population of the vulture has been declining due to diclofenac which is toxic to the vultures
- World Conservation Union placed three vultures long-billed, slender-billed and Oriental white-backed.
- Biodiversity hotspots aren't galvanizing the public to help fund and participate to help
- Harming an ecosystem could harm another miles away and the individual who rely on the ecosystem
- As vultures disappeared, hundreds of thousands of cow carcasses left for the birds have festered in the sun, where they incubate anthrax and are consumed by dogs.
- Only about 30% of Americans have heard of the word biodiversity
- The animals most vulnerable to endangerment are mammals in boreal forests and other arctic regions
- Connections between human well-being and aiding endangered species are don't seem linked. Such connections abound in many situations that engage conservationists.
- Damage to one ecosystem can harm another as well as the individuals who rely on it for resources
- Public and governments view efforts to preserve biological diversity as elevating the needs of plants and animals above those of humans.
- Most ecosystem services are declining as well as not being used in a sustainable way
- Putting prices on these services, they found that yearly value outstripped the gross domestic product of all countries combined
- Overgrazing and unsustainable farming practices fuel poverty, famine and malnutrition regionally.
- Conservationist should focus more on regions where degradation of the eco services are threatening human health
- Conservation efforts will be assessed not just by number of species protected, but by improvements to people's well being.
- Conservationists should seek to identify life raft ecosystems--areas with high rates of poverty where a large portion of economy depends on natural systems
